The maths

90 minutes of footage.
8 minutes that actually matter.

OneCut reads every word of your transcript, finds the moments worth keeping, and removes everything in between. The cut you'd have made yourself — if you had three hours and infinite patience.

The problem

Editing isn't the hard part.
Finding the edit is.

01

Watching everything. Twice.

Once to remember what's in there, once to mark the good parts. Two hours of footage costs you four hours of your life.

02

The good take is in there. Somewhere.

You know it exists — you shot it. You just can't find it without scrubbing through every minute and every retake.

03

"AI editors" that don't actually edit.

They hand you a list of timecodes and call it done. You're still the one cutting, rippling, and conforming the audio.

How it works

Three steps.
None of them outside Premiere.

  1. 01

Get a transcript. Free, in 60 seconds.

Premiere already does this for you. Open the Text panel, hit Transcribe sequence, wait a minute, then export the JSON. Drag the file onto OneCut. That's it — no third-party transcription, no extra subscription.

  2. 02

    Tell OneCut what to keep.

Type a sentence like "the funniest hiring stories" for a quick highlight reel — or pick Story mode and tell OneCut to make a whole 8-minute video. It reads the transcript, picks the moments, and shows you a plan you can tweak.

  3. 03

    Click Generate. The cut appears.

OneCut writes the new sequence directly into your Premiere project, ready to play. No exporting, no copy-pasting timecodes, no leaving the app.

Two ways to cut

Pick the moments you want.
Or let OneCut pick them for you.

Quick

Tell it what you want. Get a cut of just that.

For when you already know the angle. You type one sentence. OneCut finds every moment in the footage that matches and stitches them together.

You type"every time he admits a mistake"A finished sequence with just
  • "We shipped the product three months too early"
  • "I hired the wrong VP, twice"
  • "Pricing was a complete disaster in Q3"
Story

Tell it to make a video. It writes the whole edit.

For when you have an hour of footage and need a finished YouTube video. Tell OneCut how long, what kind, what angle. It plans the whole thing — hook, story, payoff — and orders the shots so it actually flows.

Already have an edit going?

Your B-roll, music and color grades
stay exactly where they are.

If your timeline already has B-roll cuts, music beds, captions, color grades, multi-cam angles — any of that — OneCut leaves them all alone. It just removes the gaps between the moments you keep, then closes the timeline tightly. The edit you've been building stays your edit.

  • Your B-roll cuts move with the dialogue. Nothing slips out of sync.
  • Music beds, captions and color grades survive the cut.
  • Single talking-head footage works too — same panel, same buttons.
Built for editors

Everything else, dialed in.

Click to audition

Click any moment and the Premiere playhead jumps there. Approve, swap, delete — it's still your edit.

Your footage stays local

Only the transcript text leaves your machine. Your video files never touch our servers, ever.

Theme suggestions

Don't know where to start? OneCut reads your transcript and proposes four punchy angles to try.

What editors say

"This is the first AI editor
that didn't waste my time."

I cut a 12-minute YouTube essay in one afternoon. OneCut found the lines I'd have spent two days digging for.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How do I get a transcript?
Premiere already makes one for free. Open the Text panel, click Transcribe sequence, wait about a minute, then export the JSON. Drag the file onto OneCut and you're cutting. No third-party transcription service, no extra subscription.
Will it ruin my B-roll, music, color grades, captions?
No. If your timeline already has B-roll, music beds, captions and color grades, OneCut leaves them all where they are — it only removes the gaps between the moments you keep. Your edit stays your edit; the timeline just gets tighter.
Where does my footage get sent?
Nowhere. Only the text of your transcript is sent to the AI provider so it can pick the right moments. Your video files never leave your machine.
Which AI does it use?
A frontier model tuned for editorial reasoning. The model selection is handled for you — we keep it on whatever's currently best at picking the right moments. Power users can plug their own key (Anthropic / OpenAI) into the panel settings if they prefer, but you don't have to think about it.
Are there any extra costs on top of the subscription?
No. The subscription covers everything — the AI is on us. Up to 100 cuts a month is included, which is well above what most editors run. If you somehow hit the cap, we'll let you know and you can either upgrade or plug in your own AI key for unlimited use.
Does it work for podcasts and long-form content?
Yes. OneCut has been tested on 2-hour transcripts. Tell Story Mode roughly how long you want the cut and it'll aim for that, not your full source duration.
Refunds?
7 days, no questions asked. If OneCut doesn't earn back its price in saved time on your very first cut, email us and we'll refund you.
